i start out with an apology. i have been a lousy journal writer as of late. but, i swear, i have good reasons.

1. we just moved into our new condo

it's going great! we absolutely love it and it's fun to get things all organized and decorated. we officially moved in the 24th of september and we got almost everything organized by friday the 1st of october. pretty good especially since i was in green bay for a business trip from tues. sept 20th - friday sept. 30th. we had our first guests, graham and sadie over on saturday night for dinner. yum - chipotle chicken. we like to make it spicy - but we wussed it out for company, some people don't like the spice like we do. and even with the fact that we cut it in half, there were still some spice issues. oops. sorry guys.

2. i was in green bay for business ALL week last week at the wahsa (wisconsin association of homes and services for the aging) conference. it was a great time, but crazy business. i did not have a chance to even read my us weekly there (that's bad) :)

3. work has been crazy as well. grandcare has been accepted into the white house conference on aging in washington dc. this is a huge honor, but lots of work must be done in the meantime to set up our vendor booth for this. the conference takes place every 10 years and the president and all of his staff as well as other political figures attend each decade. it's a very prestigious and exciting event. now it's go time trying to get stuff done...

4. i'm lazy (sorry, no good excuse on that one)

5. we've been entertaining a whole lot. we've had many guests over lately and it's been really fun. but, we've been making dinners and getting everything ready, etc... last night, we had our first overnight guest or should i say guests!! our good friend, mindy and her son jackson came over. it was super fun. we made dinner together and just chillaxed with some wine. jackson is getting so big. he is just adorable. this kid is beautiful. just like his mommy!

6. sydney has been high-maintenace lately. well, not really too much, but i needed another excuse. well, she did take a while to get used to the new condo. she would not go outside and go to the bathroom for a while. she would just hold it until i got to my parent's house. tres annoying!! now, she's good. no accidents on the new carpet (thank god). i bought her a little pink puppy coat today to prepare for the cold weather. not sure if she likes it too much - what's a mother to do?

7. i have actually been (gasp) working at work. that's a bit crazy and unneccessary (and frankly overrated) but alas - it is true.

8. i have been attending too many board and various community committee meetings as of late. uw alumni committee - i have somehow gotten more responsibilities lately from this one...hmmm.. :)
chamber leadership program (big commitment), win meetings, business expos, etc....busy - so you can see how things get so crazy, i forget to write an entry. well, that's no excuse. SHAME SHAME SHAME on me

9. nick and i have been brainstorming our ideas for "why do you hate dogs" in west bend campaign. you see, dogs are not allowed on the new river walking trails (even on a leash), any of the city parks or at farmer's market (outside). it's just ridiculous - and we are working to change this. dogs should not be discriminated against when in appropriate settings (ie: outdoors at a park or walking trail - seems like a given)

10. we are busy working on tracks for our "collaberation" with SomeGirl. Nick gets nervous when i use this word, so let me explain. we are going to be working together with steve from somegirl on some tracks. some will be our tracks that we write. some will be tracks that he writes. if he writes it, i will either use lyrics that he already has, or write a melody and lyrics to his music, while nick adds some musical aspects as well and keys/guitars. when steve adds to our tracks, i will still write the lyrics and melody. steve will add some musical components as well as playing live keyboards with us for some of our shows. it's going to be a blast. it should be a very interesting combo too - - somegirl is also electronic, but is way more synthpop. it will be amazing to see what happens when we mesh our two styles. the outcome so far is fantastic. we'll keep you updated

in other news - - we are selling cds like hotcakes on cdbaby! thanks to everyone who has purchased from the site. a different drum record label (www.adifferentdrum.com) is also selling our two eb cds - and we continue to rise in the ratings!! woohoo!

expect to see some news about endless blue not only locally, but internationally as well. two german magazines have requested the right to do a smoke through it review. plus, krista from tinderbox has been sending out STI cds to mpls publications before our oct. 28th mpls cd release party.
